The Beatles have received two Grammy nominations nearly five decades after their split, thanks to their final song, Now and Then. Restored with AI, the track is in the running for Record of the Year, going up against industry giants like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, and Billie Eilish. It’s also nominated for Best Rock Performance, competing with Green Day, Pearl Jam, and The Black Keys.
Now and Then was originally a demo recorded by John Lennon in the late ‘70s. Lennon’s bandmates received the recording in the ‘90s, along with Free As A Bird and Real Love, intending to complete it for The Beatles Anthology project. In November 2023, with the help of AI, Now and Then was fully realized, connecting generations of fans with a piece of music history.
